At Anaplan, we are looking for a self-motivated SENIOR PERFORMANCE ENGINEER to join our growing team of global engineers at our vibrant tech hub in San Francisco to build and ship award-winning, cloud planning technology that is helping people and companies around the world every day to make better-informed plans and decisions.

About you:

You have a genuine passion for performance testing and software engineering and a firm desire to help assess/improve software that you work on. You thrive in an environment that deeply values collaboration, feedback, and learning.

You have extensive experience performance testing web apps, APIs and services and have in depth working knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, Taurus. You have a strong technical ability and can implement elegant solutions to address complex problems. You can collate performance data from a variety of sources, analysis, interpret and communicate results and recommendations effectively.

You believe quality is something we all take ownership of and engage with teams to develop processes that ensure we consider performance from the start, looking to shift performance testing left and right.

You take ownership of work, are proactive to investigate and resolve issues to reach successful outcomes.

You are an excellent communicator, being able to liaise with multiple teams, ensuring alignment with changing requirements and progress.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide performance testing expertise to global Engineering Teams.
  • Undertake customer focused, independent performance assessments within the Engineering department.
  • Act as the champion of performance testing within engineering, guiding teams towards a more mature and accountable performance focused culture.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive implementation
  • Develop tests that replicate complex load profiles and answer challenging application performance questions.
  • Collate performance test data from a variety of sources to give effective insights.
  • Provide in-depth product/platform knowledge and testing experience to analyse and question the impact of features under development.
  • Collaborate with engineers to evaluate performance testing goals and requirements.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and issues.
  • Automate the creation of performance tests from code.
  • Support engineers with performance testing of features under development.
  • Performance testing release candidates.
  • Contribute to Go/No Go decisions.
  • Recreate Production issues.

  • Experience coding with Java.
