Job description

The Anaplan Solutions team is actively seeking an experienced finance professional to support Anaplan’s efforts in leading the development of the next generation of finance solutions on the Anaplan platform, as well as advise and work directly with customers and partners and other third parties on best practices, training/enablement and advisory.

We are looking for someone with experience across all major functions in finance, and demonstrable proficiency in problem framing and problem solving commensurate with the experience level of this position, and who wants to be responsible for driving, significant global revenue growth.

Role and Responsibilities

The role is responsible for developing the solution documentation, offering and training in partnership with the Product, Marketing, and Sales teams to drives significant growth in the finance solution portfolio. You will conduct research and analyze sales performance to determine the most effective solutions, work with customers and solution consultants to understand specific processes and requirements, and lead collaboration with shared resources to follow through on the required tasks to land the process in our customer-facing operations.

This role will also require versatility in contributing analysis, requirements, and data models required to effectively implement finance solutions for customers across a wide variety of industries and functional areas. Your leadership, advice and contributions should call upon your expertise in matters related to your accounting, finance and reporting focus areas and for broader Connected Planning in general.

Job Description

The Senior Manager, Finance Solutions demonstrates skills to drive the offering analysis and development of finance solutions via process and data model documentation to provide as an input to customer success and solution consulting organizations, to articulate the value of Anaplan’s Connected Planning platform to solve a myriad of finance problems and use cases. This documentation will be the blueprint for demos and offerings for our field organization to increase their productivity and accelerate our business growth.

Required activities: 

  • Conduct 1:1 and 1:few sales, solution consultant, sales development, and customer success trainings about given finance topics, on-demand
  • Serve as “deal support” to field sellers to support technical customer meetings as required for pre-sales and post-sales support
  • Contribute and at times, lead monthly training call(s) for global solution consultants and provide process level overview and value statements
  • Partner with product development teams to provide input to critical capabilities across architectures to effectively deliver high-value capabilities to customers
  • Develop and manage process documentation (level 3-4), associated data model and dictionary, and requirements for a wide variety of cross-functional finance processes
  • Provide analysis of different finance capabilities to highlight process differences, and device go-to-market messaging that articulates the value of different process options to effectively compete against other vendors
  • Create thought leadership and documentation to support sales enablement activities
  • Lead training sessions to enable the field and partners
  • Create appropriate sales and partner enablement material to provide value and insights to customers as we develop our partnership with them
  • Work in collaboration with our Alliances, Enablement and Academy organizations to package your process documentation into partner-ready implementation instructions
  • Work with and interview customers to document industry-specific versions of different finance processes and create taxonomy for process and data model documentation
  • Lead Anaplan trainings and attend customer-facing demand gen events
  • Partner and coordinate with product marketing to ensure effective solution marketing and generate customer demand
  • Provide vision and leadership to Anaplan model building organization 
  • Partner with peers across organization to lead solution creation and testing

The estimated, approximate balance of time will be ~ 50% content creation and documentation, 20-30% field facing for training or enablement, and 20-30% customer facing (remote or on-site as required).

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

  • Familiarity with the legacy financial systems, platforms and ecosystem 
  • Familiarity with accounting principles and concepts
  • Direct industry experience contributing to or leading financial management, planning, analysis or reporting processes
  • Excellent general business process knowledge across all major business functions
  • General business process competency across multiple business functions and industries
  • Experience working in an unstructured, fast-paced, global, agile environment
  • Understanding of the enterprise sales process, or the decision-making process within enterprises for technology adoption
  • Willingness to roll up one’s sleeves and jump in to do what is required to solve problems and grow the business
  • Desire to learn and have fun!
