Job description

Help us make the change we wish to see in the world

Founded in 2002, Roku has been a pioneer in the growing industry of streaming content. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem around the world. With more than 43 million active accounts as of Q2 2020 (41% growth in the last year alone), our platform enables content providers and advertisers to reach a massive and highly engaged consumer audience.

You’ll be sourcing and recruiting the world’s best whoever and wherever they might be. We’re looking for someone who has experience and passion in recruiting, building programs, and pipelines centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion. As the first hire on this new team you will help develop both tech and non-tech recruiting structures across Roku, focusing on widening the net to underserved and underrepresented talent, creating an equitable recruiting process for all candidates. This role will reside under Talent Acquisitions but partner closely with the Inclusion Strategy team.

From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable — and valued — contribution. As a relatively small and fast-growing public company, we offer you an unrivaled opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world, while gaining a variety of rich experiences across disciplines.

“The company is full of very smart people that are straight-forward and don't have hidden agendas.”
“Focused on results, execution, winning, and non-political.”
“Everyone is motivated and works hard and helps each other achieve common goals.”

We strive to make Roku a great place to work for experienced talent who don’t need a lot of handholding. We’re independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. We have high expectations and pay well in a competitive market.

In short, at Roku you’ll be part of a small but mighty team that’s changing how the world watches TV. We think that’s pretty cool. How about you?

You’ll spend your time doing things like:

  • Invent our diverse talent pipeline process and work on tactical research, referral generation, events, and sourcing campaigns to help us connect to our target audiences
  • Develop processes and policies that promote diversity and support all social groups across all aspects of the talent pipeline to reach a wider spectrum of talent
  • Consult and advise the Recruiting team on best practices, and implement plans to diversify talent pipelines at all levels to ensure that they can develop diverse applicant pools
  • Conduct market research to ascertain talent pool availability, identify trends, build data influenced plans, and share intelligence reports across the organization
  • Develop performance metrics and report on all diversity recruiting efforts to share the impact of plans and identify opportunities to improve
  • Partner closely with leadership to help them understand their diversity needs and opportunities related to sourcing & hiring
  • Own relationship with external diversity recruiting programs & conferences to widen the pipeline for hard to fill roles

We’d love to talk to you if you have:

  • 5+ years of full cycle recruitment and/or sourcing experience with a focus on developing diverse candidate pipelines for both tech & non-technical roles to make sure you can hit the ground running and integrate with the TA team
  • Experience developing and partnering with professional diversity organizations networks, and events to help us expand our tactic list and attract quality talent
  • Experience creating and driving sourcing strategies to identify & attract diverse passive talent at quick growing companies, preferred in tech or media
  • Experience working with and reviewing data and making insights-based recommendations
  • Experience selecting and using 3rd party sourcing tools geared around diversity initiatives

Roku has a unique culture, different from other companies you may have worked for in the past. It isn’t lip service: we live and breathe this culture every day, so it might make sense for you to read our own culture document before you apply to see if this is the right place for you.
