Job description

About the company

Remind, the leading communication platform in education, helps educators reach students and parents where they are: their phones. With over 30 million active users, we’re one of the fastest-growing companies in education technology, but we have our sights set on something bigger: giving every student the opportunity to succeed.

About this role

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to provide analytical insights that support the growth and shape the strategy of Remind. Reporting to the VP of Finance, and being the sole analyst on the Finance team, you will work closely with the entire executive team and collaborate with team members across the organization. You will be responsible for managing and improving the company’s operating model, identifying and understanding key business drivers, and building foundational analyses as we launch and scale new businesses. Furthermore, you will analyze ROI of company initiatives, drive improvements to critical business operations and processes, and support investor-related activities including cap table management and fundraising. As Remind continues to deepen our impact in US education, this is a great opportunity to gain operational and strategic finance insight into supporting a high-growth enterprise SaaS business as well as scaling a direct-to-consumer business.

About you:

  • You have experience in investment banking (Mergers & Acquisitions and/or Corporate Finance); private equity; and/or at a high growth tech company in an analytically intensive finance/business operations role
  • You have superb attention to detail, and consistently deliver accurate analyses in a timely manner
  • You have a demonstrated ability to create real value from analysis, and you seek impact that accelerates our business and our mission
  • You have strong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a proven ability to multitask
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and can build relationships with broad stakeholders, including team members across the company, external partners and Board members
  • You have strong problem solving ability and experience working through ambiguous or messy datasets (or can suggest logical datasets to be created)
  • You are a prolific and proficient user of Excel

What you'll do:

  • Own and maintain all financial modeling for the company to enable:
    • Managing, forecasting and monitoring business operations
    • Analyzing specific company initiatives, and potential returns on investment
    • Projecting and analyzing scenarios for the Board and other investors
    • Understanding compensation/capitalization
    • Other ad-hoc initiatives in support of long-term value creation
  • Partner with business leaders in their strategic decision-making by providing key performance indicators and analysis
  • Be a key partner to the accounting team, including:
    • Supporting monthly/quarterly/annual close and tracking budget vs. actuals
    • Monitoring, ensuring and improving accuracy of our systems and processes
  • Interact with all areas of the company to build strong cross-functional collaboration with finance and accounting
  • Provide input into process improvement to scale forecasting and reporting tools, procedures, and methodologies
  • Prepare and own financial presentations, including investor and Board decks

On your first day, you should:

  • Have the intellectual curiosity to understand and analyze any area of the business
  • Be able to drive further understanding of any business question via a financial model or analysis in Excel

  • Competitive salary and equity
  • 401K
  • 100% health coverage for you and your dependents
  • Open vacation policy
  • Paid parental leave
