Job description

About iRhythm:

iRhythm is a leading digital healthcare company focused on the way cardiac arrhythmias are clinically diagnosed by combining our wearable bio sensing technology with powerful cloud-based data analytics and Artificial Intelligence capabilities. Our goal is to be the leading provider of ambulatory ECG monitoring for patients at risk for arrhythmias. iRhythm’s continuous ambulatory monitoring has already put over 2 million patients and their doctors on a shorter path to what they both need – answers.

About Our Co-op:

iRhythm is currently seeking an experienced, motivated Embedded SDET Intern to join our team. Due to the global pandemic, our team is currently working remote but ideally (and pandemic allowing), this position would transition into an on-site position in our San Francisco, California office. Our work environment is fast-paced, with a collaborative atmosphere. Most of all, we are passionate about delivering innovations that improve the quality of health care and the patient experience. We are looking for like-minded individuals to join our team today!

Specific job responsibilities include:

  • Working inside of our test framework to implement automated tests for our embedded system
  • Learning system level knowledge of how our firmware (embedded software) performs
  • Gaining familiarity with requirements, test cases and manual test methods
  • Improving your programming skill through code review and test development tasks
  • Working with other engineers to understand and correct bugs
  • Learning about medical device software development lifecycles

About you:

You appreciate producing quality software and understand the value of requirements-based testing. You have a desire to gain a deep, practical understanding of how devices work and how they fail. You have strong debugging skills that help you systematically troubleshoot unfamiliar issues across hardware and software boundaries. You enjoy writing impactful software to automate repetitive tasks.

  • Pursuing a degree or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in Python and familiarity with coding standards (PEP 8)
  • Familiarity with software debugging is beneficial
  • Experience with oscilloscopes and other lab test equipment
  • Familiarity with version control systems (git) and release methodologies
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment
  • Care just as much about doing things right as getting things done

How to Apply

If the position feels like a fit, we are excited to hear from you. When you apply, please include:

  • Your resume
  • A code sample (Python preferred, but we’ll accept other languages too)
  • A cover letter: a short explanation of your background, relevant experience (links to past projects are always helpful) and what excites you about iRhythm.

FLSA Status: Co-op, Non-Exempt

As a part of our core values, we ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce. We welcome and celebrate people of all backgrounds, experiences, skills and perspectives. iRhythm Technologies, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer (M/F/V/D). Pursuant to San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment all qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

Make iRhythm your path forward.
