About Our Co-op

Engineers at iRhythm work passionately to deliver innovative solutions that improve the quality of healthcare and the patient experience. As Co-op at iRhythm, you will contribute directly to near-term commercialization efforts for our next-generation wearable bio-sensors, collaborating alongside a small team of multi-disciplinary engineers experienced in bringing medical devices to market. You will be treated as a regular member of the engineering team, inclusive of the associated projects, deliverables and accountability.

Due to the global pandemic, our team is currently working remote but ideally (and pandemic allowing), this position would transition into an on-site position in our San Francisco, California office.

About You

We are seeking an enthusiastic electrical engineering student to be a part of the iRhythm Hardware team. You will gain exposure to the design groundwork required to release Class 2 compliant hardware in the medical device industry. Your tasks will be to analyze, design, evaluate and debug circuits to support exciting additions to our product line. You have excellent technical skills, approach prototyping with curiosity, appreciate feedback and feel satisfied once you collected data to back up your ideas.

Desired Qualifications

  • Excellent EE fundamentals
  • Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Strong analog and digital circuit design skills, with underlying strength in math and physics
  • Hands-on experience in prototype bring-up, debugging and functional verification
  • Hands-on lab experience including soldering, data acquisition, lab test equipment: multi-meters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc
  • Familiarity with schematic and layout tools (Altium a bonus) as well as circuit analysis and simulation tools (SPICE)
  • Experience with a scripting language for analyzing and plotting data (Python a plus)
  • Ability to use Office tools: spreadsheets, word processor, etc
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working with minimal supervision
