Job description

Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.

Social security, our nation’s retirement safety net, is projected to be insolvent as soon as 2035, making employer-sponsored 401(k) plans the primary retirement savings vehicle in the U.S. Nearly half of all working Americans are not saving enough for their future because they are employed by a company that doesn’t offer a retirement plan. Human Interest is changing that by making it affordable and accessible for small and medium sized businesses to offer employees a path to financial independence through retirement savings.

Our values are the guiding principles we use to build solutions for plan administrators and participants. They reflect our point of view on what’s important and what’s right: in it for customers, autonomous & accountable, outcomes driven, inclusive collaboration, and decisive.

This is an opportunity to build a sophisticated growth engine with the support of a highly collaborative cross-functional Growth Team.

Human Interest is rapidly scaling and we need an experienced growth marketing leader to help us deliver our offering to a massive audience of SMBs that have been underserved by legacy 401(k) providers.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing, the Director of Growth & Performance will build a data-driven demand generation engine that reaches specific SMB market segments and drives conversion at every stage of the funnel. As the leader of the Growth & Performance team, you will develop our growth marketing strategy and make important decisions about team structure, metrics, channels, technology, and budgets to achieve ambitious customer acquisition, retention, and ROI goals.

You will also play a critical role on our newly created cross-functional Growth Team, working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to define a roadmap of initiatives that unlock remarkable experiences on and improve key touchpoints in the customer journey.

What you get to do everyday:

  • Define the strategy and OKRs for full-funnel growth marketing programs and continually optimize performance
  • Manage a portfolio of proven and experimental marketing programs across channels (incl. display, affiliates, social, paid search, SEO, email, direct mail, and TV) to achieve ambitious acquisition goals and ROI targets
  • Design the attribution, measurement, and forecasting models needed to make investment decisions and measure performance at the program, channel, and campaign levels
  • Own the marketing technology stack and related operations, including marketing automation and analytics. Establish the operating infrastructure (people, process and tools) needed to achieve performance targets, identify insights, and provide visibility into business results
  • Help the Growth Team establish a rigorous process for developing and prioritizing growth hypotheses (based on qualitative and quantitative research methods), running experiments, measuring results, and implementing experience improvements that deliver value to the business
  • Hire, coach and develop a team and establish a culture of excellence and agility that creates a clear system for understanding priorities and accountability for results

What you bring to the role:

  • 8+ years of marketing experience with proven success building a B2B growth marketing engine
  • Tireless customer advocacy and a passion for delivering experience improvements
  • Experience planning, executing, and measuring complex marketing programs (e.g. A/B testing, ROI monitoring, multi-touch attribution modeling, etc.)
  • A deep analytics background with an expert-level understanding of data tools (e.g. Looker) and analytical methods
  • Extensive knowledge of paid marketing platforms (e.g. AdWords, LinkedIn, etc.) and research tools
  • An in-depth understanding of marketing technology platforms including CRM, CMS, marketing automation, and content management
  • A strong leadership presence and ability to influence and drive execution
  • Prior experience growing and scaling a high-performing team

Please feel free to apply to this position even if you do not meet 100% of the requirements listed above.
