Job description

The Analytical Chemist will have overall responsibility for managing chromatography instruments for the research and technology organization in the Products team. In this role she or he will be responsible for routine sample and data analysis, new instrument set-up, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting issues for a variety of chromatography instruments.

The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and deliver high-quality analytical data to chemists, engineers, polymer scientists, application engineers, and excel in a collaborative and inclusive team environment. An ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial setting. 


Job Description and Specific Responsibilities

  • Independently complete out analytical testing using techniques including HPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, etc.
  • Troubleshoot, calibrate and verify the performance of HPLC or equivalent.
  • Diagnose and correct instrumental and methodological problems.
  • Assist and support the development of analytical methods and interpretation of the resulting data.
  • Data organization/management, and providing high-quality reports to team members in suitable format for easy interpretation. 



  • Bachelor degree in Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry, or equivalent
  • >2 years of experience in analytical chemistry in an industrial setting
  • Knowledge and experience with state of the art separations techniques, such as GC-MS, GC-FID, HPLC, and LCMS.
  • Previous experience with SEC/GPC or other polymer characterization is a plus.
  • Experienced in sample preparation, quantitative analysis, and impurity profile elucidation.
  • Hands-on experience, maintaining, diagnosing, and correcting instrumental and methodological problems. Mechanically inclined.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition software such as ChemStation, Masshunter
  • Familiarity with Titration (KF, etc.), spectroscopy (IR, UV-VIS), colorimeter is preferred.
  • Experience with analytical method transfers to external organizations preferred
  • Detail-oriented, ability to prioritize work across multiple projects to meet shared deadlines.
  • Motivated, dependable, and operates with a sense of urgency while yielding high-quality data
